2011 Honda CR-Z

The new 2011 Honda CR-Z is set to go on sale (in the U.S.) on August 24, 2010 starting at $19,200 plus D&D (freight) of $750 US for a total of $19,950.

In Canada the MSRP prices will start at $23,490 + $1,395 for a total of $24,885. Mind you the Canadian “base” car is equivalent to the upgraded “EX” model in the US which will be priced at $20,760 + $750 = $21,510.

Considering the exchange rate is currently around 5% and Canada’s 6.1% duty on imported cars, the difference of 15.6% ($24,885/$21,510=15.6%) isn’t too bad.

The prices are not live in our system yet, but will be soon. Don’t expect a deal any time soon. The difference between the retail and wholesale dealer invoice price is just a touch over $1,000, plus the Ontario govenment just cut out the $2,000 PST rebate so its not as cheap as it could have been in June if it had been available.

Official launch date is August 10, 2010.
