Buying a 2011 Kia Sportage, and saving $1500 off of MSRP.
First, I've put an 8 for the dealer not because I had bad service but because they didn't have the restrained car inventory made it impossible to see the real car colours to make the final decision. Beside that, sales rep was young but knew what he was talking about. He was also friendly and not pushy at all.
As written so many times on the internet, there are simple steps to follow to choose the right vehicle. Gather information on car guide sites, pick the right one for you can do a road test. Sit down with seller to get first overview on retail price and possible financing then leave.
When you're ready to buy, get wholesale price from CarCostCanada and then you're set for negotiations. For my part, I was stressed out the morning I planned to meet the seller but got pretty confident having in hand the wholesale price. The meeting with seller was painless and agreement was fast. We both knew what we were talking about and quickly agreed on a fair price. This gave us time to chat while waiting for the finance woman to be free.
CarCostCanada proved to be money well-invested.
