I found that my dealer's Toyota team was hovering just above the CCC report price which helped me confirm that this dealer was working to gain my business and though I could have presented this to neighboring dealers in nearby cities, I felt comfortable in keeping this business transaction locally... and it was so very helpful that Tim Falconi(owner), Paul Meyers(sales manager), and Mike Stronach(sales rep) accomodated my needs for negotiating an accessories (soft tri-fold tonneau cover) in the deal. I would guess everything depends on whom you negotiate terms with. Good luck!

I used the dealer price and negotiated online by email with several dealers, starting with a 4.5 % mark up and working downwards until I got my best offer of 3.25 % mark up. Worked like a charm. Proabably could have done better had I branched out further from home.

Be upfront with the salesperson about the fact that you are using CarCostCanada data. This will save you time and effort in negotiations. If a salesperson tries to tell you he/she hasn't heard of CarCost, or disputes the dollar figures in the CarCost report, find another dealership.
