CarCostCanada's July 2018 Top 10 Vehicles Sold Report

During July 2018 the slide in passenger car sales continued at the same rate as in the previous month. Year over year sales of passenger cars are down just over 34 thousand units compared to the same period in 2017. The ascent in light truck sales has continued to taper off as the year progresses. Year to date sales of light trucks are now just over three percent ahead of last years total. It should be noted that light truck sales for July 2018, were a just over 1300 units less than July 2017. The Honda Civic and the Honda CR-V were the only models in the top ten sellers list to enjoy an increase over 2017. Of the top twelve selling manufacturers, Hyundai and Kia again posted the largest year over year gain; while Fiat Chrysler Automobiles continues to report the largest decline in sales. The year to date drop in sales at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is being reported across almost all divisions including Chrysler Cars, Dodge Cars, Dodge Trucks and Ram Trucks. Hopefully the launch of the newly redesigned 2019 Ram pickup line will give FCA sales a needed boost.
