The Toyota Camry has a proven track record of reliability and low maintenance cost. I wanted a car that would serve me for severaI years and the choice of a Camry was a no brainer. Bonus, insurance costs less than a Corolla! Did not go to the fleet manager and showed the wholesale price report to Jay and he reduced the margin to 4 %.

The dealer profit was about $2,200 so I offered to split the profit. They took my offer without further negotiation. My feeling is that $1,000 is the lowest profit they will accept, unless it is a low selling car.

I told the dealer that I was a member of CarCostCanada and he said he welcomed the price comparison and would meet it. The price they had offered us initially with all the Toyota incentives at this time was close to the CarCost price. Then we negotiated a price within the CarCost range, which saved me about $1,000 more. It was quick and painless and I felt confident that I was getting a good price because I knew the CarCost price. Weeks later the dealer also called and let me know that my price was reduced by an additional $750 because Toyota had added that incentive. I think informing me and giving me that additional discount after I'd already ordered the car was very good service.

The vehicle I choose was in my price range and met the criteria I had set for myself. The dealer was picked for their location and the sales rep was very helpful. I used the wholesale price report to negotiate price following the criteria (3-6%) but due to timing (new year model being released) I also negotiated for extra features which I included in the total savings above. Nothing to improve on, this service is fantastic.

The 2010 Toyota Corolla is a very good car. Don't let the recall issues affect your decision. This car is great on gas, and has a lot more room than previous generation Corolla's. I used the wholesale price to stay firm with a price just over invoice after taxes. These dealerships will sell for a few hundred dollars over invoice. If you qualify for rebates, you could get invoice + the rebate amount, so in total you pay only invoice.

It is a good time to buy a Toyota car. The dealer now does not refuse any reasonable price as far as they can still have some earning. I directly give a price by using wholesale price plus 600 $ to start, and sticking on this price all the time in negotiation, finally the dealer accepts the price. The dealer has no other extra fees like fuels, finance registrations. That is pretty good. But remember when you sign the preliminary buying paper, try to limit the new car odometer below 20 kilometer, instead of using their standard 100 kilo.

We purchased a brand new 2010 Toyota Matrix XR AWD. All in before extended warranty and rustproofing we got it for 29,600 on the road. Fortunately Toyota had a great 48 month 0% financing deal which we took advantage of. They originally started at 31,600 and we countered with $29,000. We finally settled on 29,600. My advice is to bargain hard especially when in comes to the rust proofing a because there is so much mark-up on that as it is provided by the dealer and not Toyota.

I bought two cars this year and don't think I gained anything from this service other than my own piece of mind about getting a reasonable (not good/great) deal. Only one of the cars I looked at had a local dealer who would work with Carcost canada but i already had an existing relationship at another dealer so i don''t know if the experience would have been different if i had contacted that dealer.

Carcost Canada reports eliminate the time needed to negotiate. It helps you save time. You have to see at least 2-3 dealers to get the price you want. I will definitely recommend/use the Carcost again. Save time and money. Carcost Canada is the best tool. Hope in the future Car cost can also offer a report on used vehicles. (i.e: Black book price)

Shop around to see if dealers have the vehicle in stock. Know precisely what accessories and package you want, decide if you want the extended warranty program or nor. Set a maximum price for the purchase and stick to it. When negotiating, negotiate for the price including all accessories and options (and extended warranty if you want it). Your service is very meaningful to car buyers. Thanks. The wholesale price is a sharp weapon to help you cut the quote price. We cut from $1,500, and finally made a deal at $1,300. However, you should be very careful if the dealer plays some tricks to suck your blood, for example, it touts a not meaningful insurance (such as Protector's registration) at $318, and an Extra Care Protection at 500-1000 which is also bullshit. We're crooked by deposit $3000 but finally becomes downpayment which we originally preferred to use for house mortgage (at 5% rate) instead of for car (at 0.9% rate).

Buying a 2008 Toyota RAV4, and saving $2000 off of MSRP.
I chose Don Valley North Toyota because it is convenient and on the way I go to/from work. With the CarCost report, I know I have the negotiation advantage regardless of which dealer I go to. I negotiated myself UP from the wholesale price (in CarCost report) I managed to get it within my price range (3.5% above invoice) I could have even saved a bit more if I were more aggressive, but in the end, I want both the salesperson and myself to walk away feeling good, so I did not pursue right down to the wire. Thank you for the CarCost report ... it allows me to be the negotiator, and let me be in control of the transaction. Truly knowledge is power, and I used that to my advantage.
