Buying a 2009 Pontiac G5, and saving $7000 off of MSRP.
We just wanted a low-cost 2nd vehicle, and the factory and loyalty rebates ($5,500) were too good to pass up. We tried to work up from dealer costs, but they kept working DOWN from the retail price, calculating Retail - Discount, which made it difficult to keep track of what we were really paying. Good to know for next time.

I basically knew what they had paid for the vehicle and negotiated from there. My sales rep actually mentioned CCC to me prior to my saying anything to him. Overall, my experience was a good one with the folks at Turpin.

The Wholesale Price Report does away with the angst of knowing where to start with the negotiations, this in itself is well worth the price of membership!!! With the report we were able to save $800 right away and with the constant updates, we were able to save an additional $500 with a last minute factory rebate to the dealership. In all, a total savings of $1300 without having to worry whether we got a good deal or not.

Essentially, I used the Wholesale Report part way through to re-affirm that the dealer was going to make $'s above cost on deal and that typically $500 to $1000 is where I try to end up above cost - including Paint Protection and Extended Warranty.
