The actual transaction was at dealer cost plus $600. Knowing the pricing made my side of the bargain easier. The vehicle was swapped from a dealer in Cambridge and was in short supply: loaded Overland model. Columbo in my view did an exceptional job of pricing, sourcing and in pre and post sale service. As always there are a few additional charges that needed negotiation: winter tires etc. Griff was very fair in pricing and keen to have the business. The price on my trade was fair and in line with expectations. Based on my experience I would deal with Columbo again. The trade was a Mercedes ML 320 CDI. Going back to North American is in part due to the extreme value advantage in NA pricing on top of substantial re-engineering of the business model and vehicles. Columbo choose to keep the trade and sell on their lot. I think it was the first time they had had a Merc in trade. Based on my initial use of the Grand Cherokee they will get more converts.

I picked a busy dealer as they are more likely to deal! The closer to the city you are, it seems the better you can do.
