Buying a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan, and saving $10000 off of MSRP.
I never actually revealed that I had a wholesale price report until after the deal closed. The dealer rep was very open with the dealers cost and I had shopped around at a few other dealerships. I established a relationship immediately and let them know that I wasn't just window shopping and wasting time. Counter offers from other dealers were very helpful in lowering the price which allowed me to buy from the dealer that was close to me and the sales rep that I enjoyed working with. At any time you have to be willing to walk away from the car or you'll lose the negotiations. Being flexible in options and colour also helps. Create a must have list 1st then build from there. It's good to remember to buy what you need first, not what you want.
