Buying a 2011 Mazda CX-9, and saving $7000 off of MSRP.
I test drove the Kia Sorrento, GMC Acadia, Mitsubishi Outlander, Dodge Durango, and the Mazda CX-9.
After deciding on the CX-9, I went to 3 Mazda dealerships. I told each of them I would be going to the other’s before signing. (1 in Ottawa and 2 in Gatineau). In the end, all were willing to match each other so it was really a decision of which dealership I preferred.
The dealership in Ottawa was terrible. The type of sales tactics and double-talk that every buyer hates.
The sales manager turned red 3 times when I ''exposed'' his tactics, It was the wholesale report that finally brought him down to matching the figures of the other’s....although he wouldn’t give me anything in writing. STAY AWAY!
Both Mazda dealerships on the Qc side were excellent to deal with. Straight-forward, honest and no pressure. What a difference! I could discuss the wholesale report with them up front and we worked from there. Both had no qualms about committing to the offer. I would not hesitate to buy at either one.
I chose Elite Mazda. They were professional from start to finish. Although I have yet to experience their after sales service, I can tell you the CX-9 was prepared and covered in the service bay ahead of my scheduled pick-up ( I saw this a day before my appointment ). It was spotless, fully gassed up and ready to go as promised. Their facilities are pretty impressive too. If you visit, you’ll understand why.
Including 3 motorcycles, this is the 8th new vehicle bought at a dealership. Elite Mazda and a German car dealership are the best and by a wide margin.
Oh, and one last thing, February is a great month to buy!
