Buying a 2011 Mazda CX-7, and saving $4000 off of MSRP.
The price report is a great starting point and gives you the confidence you need to get a fair price. Knowing about all the rebates and offers was also helpful in knowing what to ask for and how to finance the purchase.

Buying a 2009 Mazda MAZDA6, and saving $2500 off of MSRP.
I received a quote from the dealer and took it home with me. I created a spreadsheet with their quote and in a column beside it, calculated what I was willing to pay based on the wholesale cost + 4%. I made sure to reduce everything including options, PDI, and increased the value of my trade in by 33%. I emailed them this offer and it was accepted without modification.
The original offer from the dealer included a $1000 discount from MSRP. My offer was $2400 below MSRP. I would never have asked for this discount as I had no idea what their true cost was.
