Wholesale price reports are excellent supports for negotiation but members need to also realize that supply and demand dictates how much of a discount you can realize. In my case, I bought a vehicle in May that had been redesigned for 2012 and was in short supply. This had an impact on the amount that I could save on the purchase. When the manufacturer offers incentives to boost sales, customers can benefit from both this and a dealer discount which is taken from the profit margin in the car. Be careful of dealers who will emphasize the manufacturer's incentive and hope that this will be enough to lure you into a sale without having to discount the car as well. There is always room to negotiate!

Wanted a newer, more reliable, car. A seven passenger SUV will be really nice for the odd time we need to carry more people than just us and the kids. Gemini is the closest Subaru dealer. Simply told the sales person that we knew the wholesale cost and asked what he could do. He basically split the profit with us.
