Knowing the dealer's cost helped me determine if I was getting a fair deal, it minimized haggling. I have bought vehicles in the past and it was really hard to negotiate. Most dealerships refuse to come down on their price, instead, they suggest you take off options in order to reduce the overall price. CarCostCanada price report was extremely useful.

Tried to buy the car online using this dealers web site, but that failed. Phoned the dealership, mentioned I had the wholesale cost and asked them to make me an offer. Transaction took 3 or 4 phone calls including one to confirm that we wanted a manual transmission. We still had to talk with the "finance manager" even though this was a cash deal with no trade in. That took another couple of phone calls. All in I likely spent less than 2 hours on the phone in the privacy of my office where I could continue to do research on options, etc. The first time we visited this dealership was to pick up the car and here Darrin spent 1.25 hours reviewing features with us. All in a very good experience.

We had a 2008 Honda Pilot previously and were very happy with it. We decided to upgrade to the new version and have been very happy with it so far. The service at Honda West has been excellent. The Wholesale Price Report was very helpful in determining the price that we were willing to pay. If you push hard enough, you should be able to get cost +4%, you just have to be willing to sign the same day.
