Buying a 2010 Mazda MAZDA3, and saving $1000 off of MSRP.
Thanks to Car Cost I got a decent deal and paid 4% over invoice. I went to this dealer because of their word of mouth service reputation, but the buying experience was awful. The sales rep tried to misrepresent the MSRP and their cost. They insisted my car cost info was wrong and that because the website ended in .com rather than .ca that I had U.S. prices. It was only after I was about to leave that the sales manager wanted to show me his cost invoice that we were able to make a deal. When he brought it out my Carcost numbers were correct within $60. Just as I told them when I walked in I was willing to pay them a reasonable markup and after all the games they tried to play I paid 4% above the invoice price provided to me by carcost. Also the sales rep didn't even know the car I wanted was in inventory. I told him their own dealer website showed 2 in stock and it wasn't until I got to the sales manager that he confirmed he did.

It made a huge difference, knowing what the dealer cost was in negotiating the price and what all the incentives were.
