Buying a 2011 Kia Optima, and saving $4000 off of MSRP.
Dealt with the sales manager Chris. Friendly interaction. Quick to reply to emails. CCC numbers were what I was shown. Once negotiations began, it immediately become clear that there are significant lot pack/PDI addons over and above the price provided by CarCostCanada. It amounts to $1450 between dealer pack and PDI. Most of the savings were based on rebates. The deal is OK. I paid about $1300 over invoice, after rebates, which I consider a bit high on this car. Chris explained his ownership imposed limits. I took him at his word and agreed to his offer. Would have like it to be about $400 lower but all in all, I'm satisfied.
Buying a 2010 Kia Soul, and saving $500 off of MSRP.
It helped to negotiate a slightly better price. On such a new vehicle (such as the Soul), it helps only a bit, whereas if I were to buy something that isn't brand new or selling well, I might have gotten a better deal.

Buying a 2010 Kia Soul, and saving $1500 off of MSRP.
I just bought a 2010 KIA SOUL 2u - (MINT GREEN) - Saved $1396.00 In a painless 10 minute sales negotiation. I can't believe it. It really worked, without me having to haggle. I have absolutely no NEW CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE. I'm a first time NEW CAR BUYER- Age 44. I simply showed the Dealer the numbers in combination with the extremely helpful tips on the website. I simply learned how to spot the dealer markup, and it allowed me to negate some of these numbers on their original offer sheet. I can't stand the thought of negotiating. I'm not a negotiator. I'm so Proud of myself, after arming myself with the information and confidence the "CarCostCanada" Quotation gave me. I was able to plainly show them the numbers, and question some of the common factory markups when I gave them my offer. The KIA dealers were 100% polite in their responses to me, and sold me the car, for the price I asked. NO UP & DOWN debating required as you would expect in a standard negotiation.
Keep in mind - The Kia Soul is currently a high-demand vehicle, which allows for a smaller margin of Buyer Savings. Plus the Kia Soul only has a smaller markup from the Retail Price vs. the Wholesale price. This car is only a $20,000 car and is currently an extremely HOT item, (which usually means a smaller inventory price difference to work with) with little inventory markup. And I still walked away about $1400 saved in a painless 10 minute negotiation. I was always fearful of buying a new car. Now, I have completely eliminated that fear by following all the tips on the website, and using my "CarCostCanada" Quotation. I'm still amazed at the POSITIVE EXPERIENCE I had buying my own car.
Why did I spend the time to write this Feedback? Because I didn't just walk away with a $1400 savings. I walked away with a level of confidence I never thought possible, which I can carry through the rest of my life.
Thanks a million... or, well at least thanks for $1396.00 in my pocket.
