Buying a 2008 Dodge Charger, and saving $1000 off of MSRP.
They were the only ones who had the vehicle I wanted in the color I wanted.
I knew what the car went for. It was sitting on the lot for over 8 months.
They refused to meet what I felt was a mutually acceptable price point (they wanted almost $1000 more), so we pulled out a cheque and started to fill it in with the price WE wanted.
We handed the cheque to them. The sales manager was present and just accepted it. (LOL)
Dealer prep ruined the car's paint job.... a bad job washing it left all kinds of small scratches all over the car, as if hand washed by an amateur. They were also not the friendliest people.
Would have preferred Rive Sud Dodge, a low pressure, very friendly dealer.
Buying a 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan, and saving $1000 off of MSRP.
I got the rep's final price then took out the ammunition of the sales report. I told them how much I wanted to pay and not one Penny more. I caught them off guard and I now had control over the negotiations.
