Buying a 2018 Mazda CX-5, and saving $1250 off of MSRP.
No aggressive or pushy sales techniques. He was very accommodating when I requested multiple test drives. Tried different trim levels. Found the one I wanted, at the price I could afford. I am very pleased with my purchase!

I choose the Mazda 3 (5-speed) because I wanted an economical fun to drive car. I use Consumer Reports to help me narrow the cars I consider and use Car Cost Canada to get the wholesale price. When you present the wholesale price to the dealer they know you are serious and it helps you negotiate a better price. With lower priced cars, the mark up is much smaller but it is still good to know you're not getting ripped off.

I chose the dealer as it is the only one in Saskatoon. Excellent dealership (compared to Jubilee Ford, Ens Toyota and several dealers in Calgary (Honda, Mazda, Toyota, etc.). The vehicle is perfect for our needs - to young children and a desire to avoid a mini van. I was unable to negotiate at all and didn't bother taking the report with me. The Mazda 5 is so much in demand that they didn't have any on the lot - I needed to wait a month for mine to arrive. Therefore, they were clear that no negotiation was possible - they'd just sell the car to the next customer. Too bad for me, but I still feel I got a good deal on the car.
