Buying a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta GLI, and saving $1000 off of MSRP.
Dealer was chosen based on location (I live in Sudbury area right now). Did some comparison shopping with dealers in the Mississauga area, but got fair price from local dealer.
Biggest benefit from Price Report was knowing what a fair price would be. I wasn't suprised with the relatively narrow profit margin the dealer had on the base car, but was surprised that they didn't have more room to move on the optional packages. I would have anticipated a 20-40% markup, which would have led to a bunch of stressful and non-productive "negotiations" and a lingering feeling that I got took. As it was I am comfortable that I got a fair price and that the dealer made a fair profit.
