Buying a 2023 Subaru Outback, and saving $500 off of MSRP.
I made an order for a 2023 Subaru Outback XT in September 2022. The salesperson notified me the next month that I would have to wait for a 2024 model since there weren't enough 2023 Outbacks in XT trim levels available. This surprised me, so I asked Subaru Canada for confirmation. A small number of 2023 Outbacks in the XT trim levels are still available for the 2023 model year, according to Subaru Canada.

Buying a 2011 Subaru Outback, and saving $1000 off of MSRP.
Wholesale price pretty much ignored (mocked?) by Subaru dealers. What deals offered were given up front and at first request. Their product was moving too quickly to create much bargaining room - even with factory incentives. It was even hard to get competitive pricing from one dealer to the next. Buying ended up being more about choosing the most attentive and straightforward rep and dealership. Be careful with the documentation fee that is being added. It varies between dealerships.

We chose Scott Subaru after checking with other Subaru dealers in Alberta, and finding it had given us, without prompting from us, the best price by a significant margin. They were also very pleasant, helpful, and straightforward to deal with.

Leasing a 2011 Subaru Forester, and saving $1500 off of MSRP.
I tried dealing with Rally Subaru in Edmonton. They unfortunately pulled a bait and switch on me. The original deal was negotiated as an all-in deal, including all taxes and fees. After I signed, when I went to pick up the vehicle a few days later, they had added taxes and fees on top of the negotiated price, totalling over $1300 more than was agreed upon. They became aggressive, saying I had to sign the new revised deal or they would keep my $1000 partial payment. I tried to work with them, tried to compromise with them, but they weren't interested in anything but pushing their new version of our agreement. We are now in the process of fighting to get my $1000 back. In the mean time, I went to Scott Subaru, and had a very good experience dealing with them there.
