Buying a 2009 Mazda MAZDA3, and saving $2000 off of MSRP.
I had done a lot of research on the Mazda3 and felt I wanted the 2009 as I would get the best bang for my buck. The reason I chose the dealer was because there was a special deal for the company I work for.

I presented the report to a couple of dealers. The first one tried to match but was ultimately over 8% over the wholesale price. I took their best offer and went to another dealer who would said they would match the 8%. I then told them that I'd pay 7% with them or would go back to the original dealer for 8%. The second dealer sold the car for 7%.

If you're going to buy a Mazda in Calgary from a dealer, this is the only one not owned by the same owner as the other 3. I initially tried to deal with the newest of the 3 others,(Kramer, North Hill and Stoney Trail), Stoney Trail Mazda, and a week after I''d made my offer they just never got back to me. I dealt with their sales manager, offered them full MSRP and asked for $751 less than the Canadian Black Book value for my car as a trade-in, which was in excellent condition. I waited 3 days and then called and left a message for the sales manager, who was in but on another line, and he still has yet to return my call, almost 2 weeks later. I guess they were insulted at making an 8 % profit...
Then I went to North hill where the salesman was extremely pushy, didn't listen to a word I had to say and did everything he could to coerce me into buying a 2008 model. I discovered on Car Cost when I got home as to why; he had a $3300 rebate on that one. Even after I called him out on knowing about his rebate he insisted that I was wrong and that I needed to pay full MSRP (which was $2000 higher on this model last year than the 2009!) or he''d be in the poor house, so I walked away. I looked into Kramer but found out the same gentleman owns it and I didn't like the way the first 2 did business. So I ended up at Sunridge Mazda. My salesman was friendly, not too pushy and very happy to answer all my questions. He did give me $200 off the MSRP when I pushed him a bit and a fair value on my trade-in. The car is every bit as nice as he said it would be and he has answered the few questions I''ve had since the sale a week ago.
