CarCostCanada's December 2017 Top 10 Vehicles Sold Report

New Car Manufacturers wrapped up 2017 with a dip in sales. Car sales were down 13 percent compared to December 2016. Light truck sales increased 4 percent, which mitigated the drop-in car sales and resulted in the overall decline being less than 1 percent. New car and light truck sales for 2017 were 2,043,943, which represents an increase of almost 5 percent compared to 2016. Only three models in the top ten selling models recorded increases in sales during December 2017; the GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Silverado and the Hyundai Elantra. The Ford F Series Pickup line was once again the best-selling vehicle in Canada, for both the month of December and for the full calendar year.
