Buying a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta Sedan, and saving $2500 off of MSRP.
Used the price report to establish final bargaining price. Didn't dicker on the additional fees for tire warranty and anti-theft registration. Focused on the discount they needed to make to meet my bottom line, TAXES IN.
In the end, we bought a demonstration model, with 10,000 kms. The dealer marked it as used, but to us, it was very new. Spent 4+ hours driving and negotiating.
Caution though, remember to negotiate the dealer extras or be prepared to say no, over and over again. Dealer extras include extended warranties, paint protection, fabric protection, tinting and accessories. That can take an hour after you think the negotiations are done, including slugging through the paperwork.
Love the car, had fun with the sales rep. Would buy from Brantford Volkswagen again.
