Salesman was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Paid full retail for the vehicle but saved some on the ceramic coating and the all weather mats. First time we've ever paid full retail, but stock was limited and demand high. Felt the trade-in value of our vehicle was low, but given its age and the fact that some work needed to be done we felt it was acceptable.

I was up front about how much I wanted discounted from the MSRP price and I also realized they needed to make a profit and I was very happy with the price. It did not require any haggling on price and it was a good experience

I first attained a price from a dealer not in my immediate area (~1 hr away) based on the Car Cost Canada valuation. I was able to take that quote to our nearby dealer, and he matched the price even though we were ordering the vehicle from the factory (they had none in stock). I was pleased that almost all negotiations were completed via email, and then with a trip into the dealer for a test drive. Overall pretty smooth process.

I wanted something bigger than my '86 Jimmy, about the size of the Toyota Rav 4 or Honda CRV but they have the spare tire on the outside which was a no for me. I liked the Sorento but it had a sloping roof line and the back window was too small. As far as dealers go, there is only 1 in Victoria. Apparently they have a "private sale" day that I heard from a salesman & that was when we went in & bought both (my brother & I) our Pilots. I actually went in with paperwork where I had worked out 3% & 6% markup so I knew what I was willing to pay.
