Buying a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta Sedan, and saving $500 off of MSRP.
As suggested on the site, I started negotiations at 3% above dealer invoice price. The mark up between invoice price and MSRP is not much on the VW Jetta. I ended up paying a little over 5% above the dealer invoice price and saved $450 before tax on the price of the vehicle. I was fairly satisfied with the deal but feel it could have been a little better. With the manufacturer discounts and money saved on MSRP I agreed to purchase the vehicle (2017 VW Jetta Wolfsburg edition, standard).

Leasing a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta Sedan, and saving $500 off of MSRP.
Found VW Jetta to be a good size car and their lease prices were reasonable.
Best dealer, good communication and very happy with the purchase
Buying a 2011 Audi Q5, and saving $1000 off of MSRP.
The build quality was so much better in the Audi. Acura RDX was my second choice. Volvo XC60 a distant third. I have owned nothing but Volvo's up to now, but their R&D budget must have been curtailed under Ford and now Geely (Chinese)ownership. Volvo wants a premium price for very average appointments.

Buying a 2011 Audi Q5, and saving $2000 off of MSRP.
Tough climate to negotiate on the hot-selling vehicle. I am not sure that the CarCost report helped me with the dealer, but it helped me to know what I should be shooting for (I believe ended up about 5% above the wholesale price)
Buying a 2011 Audi S4, and saving $2500 off of MSRP.
Chose dealer - closest to home and work.
Started negotiation by suggested we split the mark up in half, and then they added $500.
Dealer and sales rep very accommodating - test drives without sales rep, didn't have you sign papers or have to give copy of licence to allow a test drive.
