Buying a 2010 Honda Civic Sdn, and saving $1500 off of MSRP.
It is very important that you know the value of any trade in so that you can determine the actual savings in purchasing your new vehicle. Initially they only offered me $ 1,500 for a 2002 Chev Cavalier in rough shape. I new that the black book value was no less then $2,500. Knowing this assisted me greatly in negotiating a good deal.
Buying a 2009 Honda Accord Cpe, and saving $2000 off of MSRP.
Local Dealer, they initially had a higher price, but after I came back with a lower price from another dealer, they beat it.
It was good to know the profit margin from the Car Cost report. It allowed me to make a good offer. The salesman was surprised when I told him what the markup on the car was. After that there was not much negotiating left.
