Buying a 2010 Honda CR-V, and saving $2500 off of MSRP.
[I chose the dealer and car because it's] close to home, and the reliability of the Honda vehicle. They seem to stay on the road forever, and have excellent resale value.

I chose the Honda CR-V mainly because of it's reputation for reliability.I pretty well asked every CR-V owner I parked beside how they liked it, and there was not one person that disliked their vehicle. I preferred to get a car close to home, but it still depended on the dealer who turned out to be fair. I used the report just as you advised. I did look at other dealerships around London and even walked out of one when we spent 2 full hours there and wasted our time. I even showed the salesman, the dealership cost. We were to far apart, wife and I stood up shook his hand and walked out. With Simcoe Honda, I did call in advance, let the dealer know we were serious about buying a vehicle, what we wanted, and that we know the dealers cost. Also mentioned that I know he needs to make a profit and we don't want to get screwed. Arrived there, and believe or not the deal was done in 20 minutes. We were out $100 dollars from on another. I asked him to take it off as we planned to put more accessories on the vehicle. He did with no hesitation. Don''t know if he got the better of us, but I can not argue with the final dollars. I''m pleased, as before I know I was not a good car negotiator.
