CarCostCanada's August 2018 Top 10 Vehicles Sold Report

Total year over year new vehicles sales in Canada were relatively flat when compared to the same period a year ago. Passenger car sales were down several thousand compared to 2017, but sales during August 2018 were up compared to July 2018. Light truck sales were up several thousand units compared to the same period in 2017. Amongst the ten best-selling models in Canada, the Ford F Series posted the largest increase in monthly sales, year over year. While sales of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra decreased more than any other vehicle in the top ten. Ford Motor Company and Hyundai + Kia saw the largest monthly sales increase year over year gain; while VW Group reported the largest decline in sales. While Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is still down significantly year over year, their monthly sales did increase during August 2018 when compared to July.
