CarCostCanada's July 2019 Top 10 Vehicles Sold Report

As summer comes to a close, we were sure to see some changes in Canadian vehicle sales. Thankfully, for most of the manufacturers on our list, July was a great month and they saw some major sales increases in comparison to July 2018. Overall, passenger car sales saw an excellent fifteen percent increase, and light truck sales saw a four percent increase. If we look at the previous months in 2019, we can confidently say that this has to have been one of the best months so far this year for vehicle sales. The big winners this month were the Dodge Ram Pickup, which saw a whopping thirty five percent increase - the best one for them so far this year. Toyota continues to dominate with it’s RAV 4 as it saw a forty four percent increase in comparison to July 2018. Other vehicles that made the list for July 2019 was the Ford F Series, who holds it’s first place spot, the Honda CR-V, the Chevrolet Silverado, the Toyota Corolla, the Hyundai Elantra and the Ford Escape. Unfortunately, there were two vehicles that did not do so well in July. The Honda Civic saw an eighteen percent drop in it’s sales and the GMC Sierra saw a twenty four percent drop in it’s sales. Surprisingly, Fiat Chrysler saw a seventeen percent increase in it’s overall sales, which is great considering the less than satisfactory year they have had so far. Also, Toyota’s sales rose sixteen percent in comparison to July 2018, which we can predict is due to the popularity of the RAV 4. Hopefully, this positive trend will continue for the rest of the year for the Canadian Automotive sales.
