I had a salesman who told me from the start he would beat all other deals. Compare other dealers. If you know your invoice price, you won't be dazzled by discount numbers. Look at the bottom line and don't be fooled by monthly payments. Try emailing for quotes to save time.

The CarCostCanada report gave me the confidence and reassurance I am getting a fair deal. I asked for quotes from VW Mississauga and VW Georgetown. I went to the VW Mississauga dealership and the sales person ignored the CarCostCanada report and the fact that I already obtained a good quote...and gave me only a meager $200.00 discount. I managed to get a $1200 discount from VW Georgetown and I went with them.

I never told the dealer that I had the CCC Report. Send out emails to all dealers and ask for the best price. You will be surprised at the differences in discounts offered.

I picked VW Georgetown because Mark was a great guy to deal with and he was willing to negotiate from the beginning and compete vs other dealers I was talking to at the time. Many other dealers did not want to deal with me over email so I told them thats how it was going to be & if they did not like it I would stop talking to them. Needless to say a few of them actually decided to negotiate over email but the fact that they did not want to left me with a negative look on their dealership and they lost my business.

This dealership has excellent customer service skills, and I would highly recommend them. They made my car purchase a wonderful experience. This dealership is approx 125KM from my house, but well worth the drive. My salesman even offered to pick me up to take delivery of my new vehicle.

Did it all by e-mail. Sent out request for quotes to various dealers and then found the one that had a good (but not the best) price, but was most helpful. He was then happy to meet the best price.
